About Natscast

Natscast, part of the WashingtonDC Sportscast Network, knows that it's hard being a baseball fan in the Nation's Capital. And these guys know it. But, in 2005 our prayers were answered by the baseball gods (and a very reluctant, though he played it off nicely) MLB Commish Bud Selig. The Montreal Expos moved south to DC and transformed into the Washington Nationals. Since then, local college radio legends Dewey and the Raph have adopted this new franchise as their own and only - as hard as that may be at times - and bring you their unauthorized and unorthodox style to the booth each show.

From their weekly Olde Time Radio play of the week, to live reporting from the shuttle lot at RFK, to Big Stick Diplomacy, named after the hallmark move of America's favorite leader never to win the Presidents race, Natscast will help to separate truth from dirt, and the ridiculous from unbelievable.

Our call-in line number is (347) 410-9093 and you can reach us via email at host@natscast.com. Call or e-mail anytime and leave your name and location if you'd like your comment or question to be played on the air. So get ready to sit back, relax and listen to two knuckleheads attempt to lay down the law on Nationals baseball.

About Dewey

This second generation New Englander was raised just outside the nation's capital cheering for his beloved Red Sox. But after the Expos moved to DC, the pride of Germantown, Maryland, adopted this rag tag bunch of MLB leftovers as his new hometown team. Joining forces with the Raph at Salisbury University, Dewey became known for his bizarre sense of humor, always-say-fun attitude and strange love for the nuances of the game (ie. crazy baseball names, wicked handlebar mustaches, guys who do entirely too much in the batters box before they actually swing etc.).

After graduation, Dewey traveled south to the alien nation of Florida to be a sports writer at the smallest paper in the world, and host low frequency radio shows that most likely averaged a three to four person fan base. Now years later, and back in civilization, Dewey finds himself back where it all started - behind a mic talking nonsense about baseball with the Raph.

About The Raph

Born into a baseball bloodline, young Raph grew up around the game. Often playing above expectations, and with a fiery old school attitude, the Raph quickly became a force to be reckoned with on the diamond (that's just how the legend goes anyway). After a string of arm injuries forced him to retire at the tender age of 18, the Raph took that same hard-nosed mentality to the radio booth. Teaming up with Dewey at Salisbury University the duo dominated the WSUR airwaves until graduation.

Now years later the Raph is back behind the mic spitting out his take on beards, his love of Nick Johnson, over-hyped players and of course his foster-team, the Nationals.
